🐝 Community Engagement: Why Is It So Hard?!

An open letter from your local mom who’s trying her dang best.

Let’s talk about it—community engagement. Why is it so. freaking. hard?!

I’m not being snarky (okay, maybe a little) but seriously…
Why isn’t everyone in town following The Buzzy B on Facebook?
Why aren’t more families signed up for the FREE newsletter full of amazing events, local deals, and parenting hacks?
Why do we have free events with free parking and giveaways and still hear, “Oh, I didn’t know that was happening”?

I’m not mad—I’m just… confused. 🐝😅

Here’s the tea:
The Buzzy B was built to make parenting easier. To connect families. To bring you the events, resources, and support you wish someone had told you about. And I’ve poured everything into making this a go-to, feel-good, can’t-miss-it platform for local families.

But the reality?
It’s not growing the way it should be—and I’m trying to figure out why.

Is it lack of awareness? Probably.
Are people just too busy to click “share”? Maybe.
Do algorithms eat up small business posts like bees eat sugar water? 100%. 🫠

But here’s what I really want to ask you:

What makes YOU show up to a community event?

Is it the content? The time of day? The location?

Do you find out about things too late?

Or is it that social media just buries the good stuff?

I need your insight. Your truth. Your real-deal feedback. Because this platform is for you. And I want it to grow—not for me—but for the hundreds of parents out there trying to find family fun, parenting support, or even just a reason to leave the house on a Tuesday. 😅
