šŸ From Your Publisher: Why I Started The Buzzy B šŸ’›

Caring is Sharing?? Right??

Alright, hive, I’m about to get real with you. Like, vulnerable, totally transparent, rip-the-Band-Aid-off real. 🫣

People ask me all the time why I started The Buzzy B. And honestly? I usually just throw out something vague like, “It’s important” or “People need it.” Because, well… they do. But yesterday, I had coffee with someone who asked me again. And then he said, “Really think about it.” 😳

So, I did. And here’s the truth—most of you don’t know this, but I had my first child at 16.

Yep. Sixteen. My first time, wasn’t even sure it officially happened—but since I have proof (aka, a whole human being), clearly, it did. šŸ˜‚

When my mom found out, she kicked me out. My dad had left a year earlier and didn’t speak to either of us. My boyfriend’s mom, in a very Lifetime-movie moment, said, “We’ll do the right thing and get married.” So, we did. Boom—16 years old, married, and raising a baby. šŸ¼šŸ’ (Fun fact: We actually stayed married for 10 years, and he is still a very important part of my life!)

I doubled up on classes, thanks to an incredible program called JCAPP (Jefferson County Adolescent Pregnancy Program) and graduated early. That program saved me. My then-mother-in-law saved me. Without them, I have no idea where I would’ve ended up. I certainly could have never gone on to mentoring teen moms, attending college, joining the Denver Police Department, or obtaining my teaching degree and become a Teacher!Ā

But here’s the thing—while I had the basics down (feeding, diapering, keeping a tiny human alive), I never really connected with anyone. No mom groups. No fun community events. Just me, my baby, and the occasional storytime or park visit. I didn’t know where to look or even if those things existed. But honestly? I don’t know if I would have gone. Being so young with a child did pose lots of looks and judgment. It wasn’t as accepted then as it is now.

Fast forward. I got older, had more daughters, and eventually found Hulafrog. I worked for them because I believed in it and loved the concept. I worked with them for 4 years, and then an opening became available with Macaroni KID. I had followed and loved them for years, so I took my chance! While working with them, Macaroni KID bought Hulafrog. I worked for Macaroni KID for three years but felt boxed in by their business guidelines and limitations.

And then, six months ago—The Buzzy B was born. šŸāœØ

Because here’s the truth: No one should parent alone.

You should have a village. You should have a tribe. And you should use the resources that make parenting easier, more fun, and a little less overwhelming. That’s what they’re there for!

So, if you ever feel alone in this wild parenting journey—you’re not. There are so many women out there searching for their people, just like you. And maybe, just maybe, The Buzzy B can help you find yours. šŸ’›

I know I’d love to be part of it. šŸ’–
