Colorado is actively participating in the national “Every Kid Outdoors” initiative, which is designed to provide all children—including 4th graders—with more opportunities to explore the great outdoors. While the program is a national effort, many local organizations, school districts, and parks in Colorado have partnered to offer activities,

field trips, and camp experiences that align with its mission.

For specific opportunities tailored to 4th graders in your area, I recommend checking with your local Colorado Parks and Wildlife office or your school district’s outdoor education programs. These groups often host events and special programs that bring the Every Kid Outdoors vision to life, helping kids disconnect from screens and connect with nature.
