(That No One Told Me… But The Buzzy B Will!)

Let’s just start with the truth: parenting is like jumping on a rollercoaster blindfolded with a juice box in one hand and a sticky toddler clinging to your leg. 🎢🧃 It’s wild. It’s wonderful. It’s what even is that smell??

When I became a parent, I thought I was prepared. I had the Pinterest boards. The tiny socks. The “I got this” attitude.

Spoiler alert: I did NOT, in fact, have this. 🙃

So from one been-there-got-spit-up-on-it mama to another, here are the 10 realest things I wish someone had told me—preferably over nachos and a large iced chai.

1️⃣ Sleep is a myth. Embrace snacks and under-eye concealer.

You will Google, “Can you die from no sleep?” at 3:17 AM. You will cry over a dropped granola bar. And you will fall asleep in places you didn’t know sleep was possible (hello, upright on a plastic slide).

2️⃣ You will Google weird stuff.

“Is this poop color normal?” “Can a toddler survive on ketchup?” “What day is it?”
Your search history will look like a toddler took over your phone and a med student is panicking.

3️⃣ Postpartum isn’t just diapers and ice packs.

It’s hormonal chaos, identity shifts, and figuring out who the heck you are now. And no, Target runs do not count as self-care—but they sure do help. 🛍️✨

4️⃣ Toddlers are tiny dictators in Crocs.

They’re cute, chaotic, and powered by fruit snacks and unreasonable demands.
No, I don’t know why the blue cup is suddenly the devil. I don’t make the rules.

5️⃣ “Me Time” isn’t selfish. It’s survival.

You can’t pour from an empty cup. Or a coffee mug that’s been reheated 4 times and left in the microwave overnight. 🚨 Take the time. Hide in the pantry. Recharge.

6️⃣ Teens will roll their eyes. A lot.

Congratulations! You’ve graduated to the “embarrassing phase.” But here’s the twist—they’re still watching. Still learning. Still needing you (even if they act like they were raised by Wi-Fi and sarcasm).

7️⃣ No one actually knows what they’re doing.

Not even that mom with the color-coded snack bins. We’re all winging it. We just post the good moments and hide the mess behind a decorative blanket.

8️⃣ You’ll find your people.

The ones who get it. Who won’t flinch when you say “it’s been a day” and show up with caffeine and zero judgment. That’s what The Buzzy B Hive is all about. 💛🐝

9️⃣ You don’t have to do it all.

Your kid doesn’t need gourmet bento boxes or a full moon sensory bin to feel loved. You’re doing amazing. Show up. Hug often. Apologize when needed. That’s the gold.
