It is that time of year again! Are you ready for another holiday cosplay shoot? Dress up as your favorite holiday character or dress your favorite character up for the holidays! Don't cosplay? That is perfectly fine. You can come just to hangout!
It will be cold so please dress accordingly! I will update the weather when it gets closer.
We will meet by the outside restrooms near the band shell in Acacia Park around 3PM and wait about 15 minutes then start photo taking! This shoot will go into the night, you are welcome to show up later during the event time.
There will be hot cocoa, tea, and coffee available around at local places near the park. Great way to help keep warm, also cute to include in photos! Feel free to poke around the shops to warm up as well, lots of food options too! Lets have fun!

CASA is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization serving El Paso County and Teller County that trains and supervises volunteers to represent the best interests of our most vulnerable citizens – victims of child abuse, neglect, and severe domestic conflict. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court and in the community. The desired result is that children are placed into safe, loving homes where they can thrive. Join us for A Black Forest Christmas featuring the Black Forest Log School. This event is not just a community gathering, it is a fundraiser and 100% of the proceeds go toward the renovation costs for the historic Black Forest Log School. This will be a great event for the entire family. A full dinner will be served thanks to generous donations from local businesses.
We are also hosting drink service with beer, wine, and some special Christmas drinks. Soda and hot chocolate will also be available. Coffee and water will be provided at no cost by the Black Forest Community Center. As this is a fundraiser for the Log School, we kindly request that no outside beverages are brought into the event.
The Log School will be decorated for Christmas as it would have been decorated 100 years ago shortly after it was first built. The Log School will be open for tours with a guided talk by local docents knowledgeable of the Black Forest Log School. The Log School docents will have a special old-time Christmas gift for each child at the end of the tour! Tours will be available on a donation basis.
There will also be a silent auction, christmas carols, christmas cookies, and visits with Santa! And, of course, we will host the annual Black Forest Christmas Tree Lighting.
Please bring cookies to share as they will not be provided by the Black Forest Community Club.

This winter parade happens each year on the first Saturday in December. Visit a warm your "bum" fire by the street along the route in order to stay warm. Enjoy hot chocolate while visiting several businesses that are open during the evening festivities. The event is a great family friendly event. Afterwards, the celebration and awards ceremony are held at the Ute Pass Cultural Center. Listen to music, eat cookies, have hot chocolate and enjoy an adult beverage at the bar.
The parade is on highway 24 from Taco Bell to Tweeds. It begins at 6 p.m. and the awards ceremony follows afterwards at the Ute Pass Cultural Center.
For over 35 years, spectators have enjoyed floats created and decorated by local businesses, churches and civic groups. Includes marching bands, lit fire engines and much more. The grand finale includes an appearance by the jolly old man himself - Santa Claus!

🎄We are so excited to announce that we have teamed up with School of Rock Colorado Springs to help promote and collect toys for local band Mindless Vitality’s 3rd annual holiday toy drive show benefiting Christmas Unlimited! 🎄
Christmas Unlimited is one of the regions oldest charities and is a non profit organization that helps families with back to school supply distribution as well as Holiday toy distribution in December. In 2023 Christmas Unlimited served over 2,100 families and 5,100 children with their toy distribution program.
We have boxes at both of our Swim locations for Toy drop off. All toy donations must be new and unwrapped toys. 🚂 The last day to donate at our locations will be 12/7, any donations made after that date must be dropped off at Christmas Unlimited. You can also drop off toys before 12/7 at School of Rock of bring them to the show!
Tickets for the show are $15 without a toy and $5 with a toy donation, if you would like to purchase a ticket to the show, ask your instructor for more information! We will have tickets for sale at both of our locations but can be purchased the day of the event at the door. You may also purchase tickets through the link on this event but it’s a better deal to buy them in person!
The Christmas toy drive show will take place on 12/7 at Sunshine Studios Live. Doors open at 7 and the music will be going until 10:30.🎙️Come and join the fun, this show is for all ages!
