You may purchase more clay during the workshop if desired.
During this class, we will be constructing ornaments, gnomes or what ever you want, using clay. With a variety of choices to choose from, you won't be limited to what others want to do. An experienced artist will walk you through the process from start to finish.
The clay will dry in our studio for about a week then it gets fired and you will be notified when to come back and glaze your creation when convenient for you then we will fire it again. Or you can paint the fired clay with acrylics and take it home the same day. We look forward to seeing you:)
One pound of clay makes about five ornaments, one or two gnomes, depending on the size. If you have a favorite cookie cutter shape, feel free to bring it with you. We have over 30 unique shapes.

The mansion parking lot will not be open for general parking on Saturday. Instead, there will be free shuttle parking from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 9203 S. University Blvd., Highlands Ranch.

Please be aware that a limited number of on-site mansion parking spots on Saturday will be set aside exclusively for vehicles with a handicap placard or license plate. Individuals using these designated spots must present their handicap placard or license plate upon arrival.

We will bring the heart of Knob Hill Urban Arts District to life for one magical day with live art, workshops, speakers, vendors, food trucks, a silent art auction, giveaways, and more.

In particular, this event aims to welcome our children back to school with a Lil Miss Story Hour kids corner, that will include a chalk festival; an anti-bullying workshop with Dr. Juliana Deans; story times with Lil' Miss Story Hour; puppets courtesy of Katy Williams Design; a Theatre Across Borders theatrical performance; S.T.E.A.M. activities courtesy of Theatre Across Borders and Pikes Peak Children's Museum; a petting zoo courtesy of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's ZOOMobile Program; face painting with Irishimo Graves; an art experience with Kay Gaynor (Momoxoart); a Karate seminar/demonstration courtesy of Universal Kempo Cimarron Hills and East Central Kempo Karate; and an outdoor workshop.

A backpack full of school supplies will be given to every child in grades PreK-3 through 6th attending this event! Additionally, free haircuts will be available courtesy of Sunday Barber Co. for kiddos aged 4 and up between 1pm and 3:30pm. Haircuts will be first come first served, so get to the event early!

Join us Wed., Sept. 11, 2024, for Silent Night, an evening of mindfulness at the Zoo. At the event, guests enjoy a quiet Zoo experience with only the natural sounds of animals and the mountainside.

Attendees are asked to silence phones and other noisy devices, and to keep all communication to a whisper. 'Noise-friendly' buildings are open for those who may need to take a moment to regroup or take an important phone call. The rest of the Zoo will be quiet.

All ages are welcome, but please consider whether they will enjoy and respect the quiet ambiance of the event.

Giraffe and budgie feedings will be available, along with limited low-noise dining options at The Grizzly Grill. Unlike our other evening events, we will not have live music, announcements over loud speakers, or keeper talks.
