Egg-cellent Adventures in Colorado Springs: The Story Behind Those Humpty Dumpty Sculptures! đŸ„šđŸŽ‰

If you’ve been egg-sploring downtown Colorado Springs recently, you’ve probably spotted some familiar faces—Humpty Dumpty faces, to be precise! These delightful, egg-shaped sculptures are popping up all over town, making it feel like we’re living inside a nursery rhyme. But how did these charming eggs end up here, and who’s the genius behind them? Let’s crack open the story behind these whimsical creations! 🐣✹

Meet Kimber Fiebiger: The Egg-ceptional Artist Behind the Humptys đŸŽšđŸ‘©â€đŸŽš

Meet Kimber Fiebiger, the fabulous artist who has been bringing these egg-shaped wonders to life for nearly 40 years! A Minnesota native with a love for all things quirky, Kimber’s journey with Humpty Dumpty began when her 2-year-old son had a very specific request: “Mom, make me a Humpty Dumpty!” Most parents would reach for a picture book or a stuffed toy, but not Kimber. Nope, she went straight for the metal and made him a tiny Humpty Dumpty sculpture.

“They just kept growing and growing and growing, and they’ve become a business,” Kimber says. And we’re all the better for it! What started as a little side project for her son has turned into a full-blown collection of 24 Humpty Dumpty sculptures decorating downtown Colorado Springs. Talk about an egg-splosive art career!

Humpty Dumpty: The Egg-venture Continues đŸ„šđŸš€

These aren’t your average eggs. Kimber’s Humpty Dumpty sculptures come in all shapes and sizes, each with its own personality. You’ve got Humpty Dumpty reading a book, Humpty Dumpty tipping his hat, and even Humpty Dumpty just chillin’ like he’s got no fear of falling whatsoever. Kimber keeps us on our toes—or should we say eggshells?—by adding new sculptures around the city. In fact, three more Humptys made their debut just last week!

These playful pieces are like a giant game of “Where’s Waldo?”—but way better because there are no weird striped shirts, just adorable, whimsical eggs waiting to be discovered. You never know when you’ll turn a corner and stumble upon one, perched high on a wall or lounging in a garden like it owns the place.

Why Humpty Dumpty? Because Why Not? đŸ€”đŸ„ł

So, why Humpty Dumpty? According to Kimber, it’s all about making people smile and bringing a bit of whimsy to everyday life. “I like them to be accessible and fun,” she says. “They make people laugh, and that’s what art should do.” And we couldn’t agree more! These sculptures turn an ordinary stroll into a mini adventure, giving you a reason to slow down and enjoy the little things—like an egg in a top hat.

Think of Kimber’s Humptys as Colorado Springs’ very own squad of cheerful ambassadors. They’re out there spreading joy, making people stop and smile, and maybe even reminding us to be a little less serious. Because let’s be honest, we could all use a bit more egg-citement in our lives!

How Many Humpty Dumptys Are Out There? An Egg Hunt Awaits! đŸ•”ïžâ€â™‚ïžđŸ„š

Right now, there are 24 Humpty Dumpty sculptures tucked away in various nooks and crannies across downtown Colorado Springs, and rumor has it that more are on the way! Some are easy to spot, sitting proudly on walls or benches, while others are a bit more elusive, hiding in places you’d least expect. Think of it as an ongoing egg hunt for all ages—no basket required!

Families, friends, and even solo adventurers have taken to the streets to see how many Humptys they can find. It’s become a beloved local activity and the perfect excuse to get out, stretch your legs, and enjoy a little egg-sploration. And let’s be real: who wouldn’t want to brag about finding the most Humptys in town?

Final Thoughts: Cracking Up with Humpty Dumpty đŸ’›đŸ„š

Kimber Fiebiger’s Humpty Dumpty sculptures are more than just fun pieces of public art—they’re little doses of happiness sprinkled throughout the city. They’re the kind of art that makes you stop, think, “Wait, is that an egg in a suit?” and then smile from ear to ear. So next time you’re downtown, keep your eyes peeled. Who knows? You might just spot a new Humpty you’ve never seen before!

And remember, when life feels a little scrambled, take a cue from Humpty Dumpty: sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. Just be careful not to fall off the wall! đŸ„šđŸ’•

The Buzzy B is working on doing a possible “EGG HUNT” next year if we can get the right sponsors and make this a fun family “amazing race” over a three day period. Full of clues and a full on scavenger hunt! If you are interested in participating, let me know!
