Sensory Friendly Afternoons at Butterfly Pavilion
Sensory Friendly Afternoons will now be offered monthly at Butterfly Pavilion!
A sensory-friendly event allows children and adults with sensory sensitivities, or other social, learning or cognitive disabilities, to enjoy an event in a welcoming, safe and comfortable environment. You will notice that certain exhibits might be turned off or the volume is reduced. You’ll also notice that certain exhibits have alternative items for guests to touch depending on their comfort <a></a>levels.
There is also a limited number of guests in the facility during this time and other lights and noises are reduced. Learn more and get your tickets today!

An all-abilities class that will use circuit training to expend energy, build tolerance for changing environments and improve breathing control. Exercise can increase independence and provide neuroimprovements (increase capacity to process more information), and help individuals identify mental and environmental stressors).
Carlos Stevens has worked in the professional fields, corporate and private, and now wants to concentrate on serving the neurodivergent and autistic communities. He’s into computers and coding and recently moved from the east coast to the Denver area to pursue data science interests

Lego Fun for Everyone
Free Workshop for special needs children with an accompanying adult.

We inspire curious minds to build cool tools, machines and gadgets. Each month kids build a different model of swings, trains, spaceships, seals, and more! Children follow clear instructions to build, and us block programming on a tablet to make projects move! Kids have fun while they learn something too!
Class Experience
Using motors, battery packs, and lots of LEGOs, kids and their accompanying adults will build a fun, unique project. We will share a few science/engineering facts, build, create, and then program the projects to move using WeDo 2 on our tablets. Its a fun, creative, learning experience for you and your child! All materials will be provided!
Class Requirements
This is a free program for families with a special-needs child. We require parents/guardians to fill out a brief questionnaire at check-out to ensure we are serving the special needs community. Adults must stay with their children to help them build.

DEDICATED TIME FOR KIDS WITH AUTISM & SPECIAL NEEDSChuck E. Cheese is proud to support families who have children with autism and other special needs. Through our Sensory Sensitive Sundays program we’re able to offer families a quieter dining and entertainment environment, dimmed lighting and a sensory-friendly arcade experience. Caregivers and children of all abilities are welcome.
Join us for an inclusive and interactive Storytime designed for children who are neurodivergent and/or have sensory needs. Light and sound is decreased, and we provide sensory toys, fidgets, and noise cancelling headphones for anyone who needs them. Story time includes songs, stories, and rhymes, with time to play and socialize at the end.

The Downtown Aquarium manufactures a sensory friendly viewing environment on the third Sunday of every month.. The ambient sounds are turned down, the lights are turned up, and the sea creatures can be enjoyed without the large crowds. Exhibit entry purchase is required.
